The Next Chapter

Lying on the bed in my dimly lighted hostel room, while being sleep-deprived with my head bobbing to the song “Legendary” by Welshy Arms, I just can’t stop feeling ecstatic.

Having received my acceptane letter to join Columbia University for the Masters in Management Science Program is a dream come true. Perhaps the first of many more which is yet to come.

As my mind takes a trip down the memory lane, I fixate on every moment in my life where I have experienced pain, anguish and deemed myself as a failure. It is easier to remember what brought you down than what you lifted you up.

All those days when I cried my heart out after school. Instances where I felt I was the odd one out. I’ve experienced depression. The times I said no to going out and being with my friends. All those late nighters I pulled. Work and it’s never ending loop. Friends who supported me and those whom I had to leave behind.

It still doesn’t make any more sense than it did back then.

More pain, anxiety and craziness is on its way. But this time around, there is one thing that’s definitely different – I’m looking forward to it!

Today, my friends, is not the end.

It’s just the beginning of the next chapter. And this is a feeling I never ever want to forget.
