Not all girls are the same so it would not be advisable to generalise their behaviour. Although I do agree that the need to be more successful often tampers with our friendships, those feelings are quite normal and it exists between all kinds of relationships.

I too had no girlfriends back when I was a kid and I loved spending time with guys owing to their frank mindedness but once I changed cities and met other like minded women, all my apprehensions of not having gfs became a thing of the past.

I’m pretty sure once you find your girl gang, women with whom you can discuss what you love, there will be no turning back.
